To Jason's World
This is me dressed for winter in lovely Queensland, "Beautiful One Day, Perfect The Next" :-)
Guess I am a bit biased lol O K Now a bit about me I was born in Germany (West) and I migrated to Australia when I was 21 and lived there ever since. I have been very fortunate in that I have been able to travel around the world and through Australia several times and have lived in 3 States in Australia. I have 3 children 2 boys and 1 girl from previous marriage and my daughter Sariah actually had the audacity to make me a grandfather in 1999. All of my children are grown up and live on their own. During my working career I held a variety of jobs from Nursing, Truck driving, Pest Control, Chauffeur, Private Investigations, Security and others till I started in Computer Repair, got my self a Diploma and in 1990 started my own business.
Ok Now on to our story :-) About 18 month ago while surfing the internet , I came across Chat Channels and found Efnet and then stumbled across a channel called #Pumpkin. I felt welcome there and so I stayed on for some time . I also met DollBaybe there, we got into chatting , getting to know each other better, and eventually became fond of each other. During a fun session there DollBaybe held me down to get at my credit card, and we ended up with Kim a good friend of ours from #Pumpkin marrying us. As time passed by we were getting very serious about it all and decided that we would like to spend our life's together. So in April 1998 I went to Oregon to meet her in person. I arrived late in the evening on the 15th DollBaybe came to pick me up and we spend the night at her apartment getting to know each other better. In the morning, Talena had to go to work, and I being a bit jet lagged tried to get some sleep. About 12 o'clock Talena rang me from work and asked if I wanted to get a marriage license, I agreed and she came and picked me up. In the courthouse we got the papers filled in, paid the fees and then inquired if it was possible to have the normal waiting period waived. We were fortunate that a judge was at the time at the courthouse who was prepared to assist. Next we went back to Talena's apartment and started phoning around trying to find a minister that would marry us as soon as possible, ( and no, neither one of us was pregnant lol :) ), finally found one that had the time that afternoon at 18:30 hours. Next we had to try to find 2 witnesses, Talena rang work, asked her best friend what she was going to do after work and told her then , don't go home we come and pick you up, we need you as witnesses; which we did on the way to Church. Believe me, I didn't have a shotgun held at my back lol, I just felt I had to work fast so no body else could have the same idea and take her from me :).
We both said yes when asked by the minister and we are now Husband and Wife :-)
I had to return to Australia shortly after to attend to my business while Talena had to apply for her passport to come here too. Since my wife originally came from Texas she returned there before her departure over the big pond. Our intention at the time was that we would make Australia our home. When we investigated the residency visa for Talena we found that it was not only extremely expensive but according to a friend of mine who works for immigration also almost impossible. The reason for that is that my wife lost her left leg at the age of 2 years , I guess the Aussie Government thinks that it could be to expensive to have Talena here. So instead we then applied for me to receive a residency visa for the United States. Talena returned back to Texas and started our new home . In March 99 I received the visa for my entry to the United States and we were united in Texas once again. We stayed in Abilene Texas for a while and then we moved to Wichita Kansas (very cold place in Winter there and I seen my first snow since leaving Germany). But alas we didn't like Kansas too much and so we moved to Houston Texas and I worked as a Computer Technician there. But with the low wages in America I could not see a future for us there. While at work one day I could hear an Australian voice, so naturally I had to investigate, and met a fellow Australian there. We became good Friends with David and Cheryl during their stay there. Both kindly offered support for us should we decide to come back to Australia. Talena and I discussed the pro and cons of such a move since it would entail a complete fresh start again. Talena could sense that I was not very happy in the States and we decided that I should go back to Australia and start our new life there. As Talena had to sponsor me to gain entry to America I will have to sponsor my wife and so I returned at first without her to get a job and then we will apply for Talena's visa. We asked David and Cheryl if I could stay in their home till I found work and a place to live. Thankfully they agreed and put up with me while I searched for work and abode. We thank both of them for their tremendous help . David and Cheryl, without you two we could not have done this, and we thank you with all our heart. Thank you for being friends and giving us support and help .
When I arrived in Texas Jay had written this Poem for me :-) Thank you Jay !! This is where your head shall rest And gather needed sleep But if the memories should come and creep Know that these will be the best
Know that love and family lie here And support your every move And please know that we care
Welcome to our comfy home Please excuse the mess Know that you will never be alone We will try to help our best
Now you have become part of our lives We know you will stay Know that there is nothing like a Texan’s love It will be here till we die
And we wish you the sweetest dreams No matter what they be Know that tomorrow brings many new things
Welcome home Jason Love From us all
