Tips
1.The first and simplest rule for outdoor
enthusiasts: If you pack it in, pack it out.
2.Whenever possible, stay on marked pedestrian
paths or hiking
trails - this will help stem erosion and minimize human impact on
the environment.
3.Respect all creatures you encounter, whether
they be bison in
Yellowstone or spiders crawling in your tent.
4.If you must build a fire in back country,
keep the flames low and away from tinder like dry leaves or grass.
5.To wash dishes use only a small amount
of biodegradable,
no phosphorous soap. In most cases, dirty dishwater should be
poured into a small hole, then covered with soil.
6.Resist the temptation to pick plants and
wildflowers.
7.Unless you will be hitting the trail during
hunting season, opt for
gear in soft natural colors that blend unobtrusively with your
surroundings.
8.Keep noise to a minimum.
9. Always have a partner when venturing into
the woods for a hike.
10. Always pick up litter and put out fires.
