OK, here's the poem I promised you this morning (not that anybody's been here to see what I had written). It is not wondeful, but in my opinion it is the best I've ever written, and I've certainly seen worse. It's actually meant to be a song; its just that I can't think of a tune good enough for it. It is copyrighted, however, so if for some bizarre reason you like it enough to want to use it, please notify me before you do, and give me the credit for it when you do use it. Thanx! Enjoy!!!
Butterfly in the Dark
(I Will Be thy Flame)
Starlight, moonlight;
Eyes like sapphires,
And I'm your starlight
Cry on me; I don't mind tears,
Starlight, moonlight;
And I know that sometimes
Eyes like sapphires,
Brightest darksight.
Love me, darkness,
'Gainst thy soft breast
Hold me tight.
Velvet sky-fires,
Brushing lips carress.
You're my darkness,
You're my night;
Love me darkness,
Hold me tight.
I'll be your soft-bright,
Shining in the dark night
Of your soul, I'll fill you up,
so
Love me, darkness,
Hold me tight.
You're safe with me, forget your fears.
Brush the curls out of your face,
My Night.
Please--love me more, I'll be
Your Light.
Brightest darksight.
Love me, darkness,
'Gainst thy soft breast
Hold me tight.
we
Must all walk in the dark
To see the full glory of
the light.
So hold on tight, baby, and
Just remember, those who
Walk in the light are blinded
And they can't see; yeah, it's
too bright.
Keep walking in the shadows, baby,
I'll be your Guiding Light.
Velvet sky-fires,
Brushing lips carress.
You're my Darkness,
You're my Night;
Love me, darkness,
Hold me tight
And 'gainst thy soft breast
I'll be your starlight.
