Romy is from Ozamis City but had settled in Iligan for the past 16 years now. He was one of the resident artists of Galeria de Iligan and a member of Sidlak.

A freelance advertising artist, he is one of the most promising artist of Iligan, whose paintings are found in private collections not only in Iligan but nationally and internationally. Some of his works have found their way to private collections in the United States and Europe. He was formerly an artist-illustrator of Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT).
