Black Gordon
Black Gordon was tied by Charles Dickson Jr. You can find more of his flies on his page on this site, The Flies of Charles Dickson Jr.. Charlie's Notes: The Black Gordon is an old standard for steelhead fishing on the west coast. It was originally invented by Clarence Gordon in the 1930’s for fishing the North Umpqua. This is my version of the fly adapted to a tube. My version is probably more complicated than it needs to be but it can be fun to indulge yourself on tubes because they are a much larger tying platform than a hook. |
