Cased Caddis |
||||||||||||||||||||
|
The pattern for this fly came from the fine book by Dick Stewart and Farrow Allen, Flies for Steelhead. They write that Steelhead are frequently attracted to the natural insects of their spawning streams. Often, these cased caddis' become dislodged as female steelhead are building their redds in the gravel, setting them loose in the current. This cased caddis imitation should be fished deep on a natural drift along the stream bottom.
