Little Estuary Leech, Chartreuse

Name Little Estuary Leech, Chartreuse
Category Chum Salmon
Hook Gamakatsu Octopus, or Salt Water Hook, Size 1 to 2/0
Tail Red or Wine Crystal Flash
Body Red or Wine Crystal Flash Wrapped Forward Around Hook
Throat Strands of Chartreuse Marabou
Wing Chartreuse Zonker Strip, About 1.5 Times the Hook Length, Tied in Before Head
Head About Three Turns of Fluorescent Red or Pink Chenille, Crystal Chenille, or Estaz

This is another of the Leech patterns that I tie for the chums at Kennedy Creek, the South Puget Sound tidal creek. I tie this in smaller sizes to get a better float in shallow water when the tide is out. This fly has been very productive, drifted into shallow water where the salmon are holding. I also tie this in Fluorescent Red.
