Name	Leons Montana "The Stalker"
Category	Salmon/Steelhead
Hook	Kamasan Classic Lure Extra Long Size 8 or 10
Tail	Marabou Turkey (OLIVE)
Body	Weighted with lead wire first, Then apply Lureflash Chenille (Black/Orange SSC1M) and Lureflash Chenille (Black/Lime SSC2M) Both stands are placed on top of the hook shank Near eye end going back to tail then wound both strands together and tie off near eye, Leaving space to build head.
Hackle	Dyed Indian Cock Cape (Black)
Dipper Vane	Fitted but Optional (See Leon's Dipper Vane)
Head	Black thread built up to form round head (Covered with Clear Epoxy Glue) then painted Eye s (Yellow with black Dot) White Optional
Comments	The essence in Stealth. Salmon, Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout.
Fishing Tips	Retrieve with 1 foot pulls, stopping on occasion to allow to sink.

This pattern was originated and tied by Leon Guthrie of Galashiels, Scotland. The Dipper Vane (which see), is an invention that Leon uses to add action to some of his flies. He writes "I don't know how far your fly tyers go into making special flies. Some of my flies designed for Salmon include a special vane attached to the head of the final fly. This makes the fly wobble and dip in the water whilst the fly is being retrieved and gives the fly a realistic movement in the water."
