The Bottlebrush was developed by Anthony J. Route, author of Flies for Alaska. If you are interested in fly-fishing Alaska waters, I would recommend reading his book. He has developed a concise list of effective flies for Alaska waters that won't overtax your tying skills or your fly box. Mr. Route doesn't hesitate to point out that many flies developed for specific fish and regions can be equally effective for different species and different regions. The Bottlebrush is one of those flies.
