Diamond Shrimp

Name Diamond Shrimp
Category Pacific Salmon
Hook Saltwater; Size 5 to 7
Thread White or Pink, 6/0 standard or single-strand floss
Antennae A few strands of pearlescent Krystal Flash and gold Flashabou
Skirt White or pink rabbit fur, applied in a dubbing loop
Body Pearl, gold, or fluorescent shrimp-pink diamond braid
Head Tying thread

Diamond Shrimp, was originated by Ken Hanley and came from his excellent book, Fly Fishing the Pacific Inshore. Mr. Hanley notes that it as a good fly for Pink Salmon and suggests fishing it in the estuaries and around kelp beds. It is meant to be suggestive of euphasiid shrimp and krill.
