  Orange Bomber

Name Orange Bomber
Category Steelhead Surface Fly
Tail White Calf tail
Body Deer body hair deep orange and palmered with orange saddle hackle
Wing White calf tail set forward and upright.

Orange Bomber is one of the patterns listed in Trey Combs's fine book, Steelhead Fly Fishing as noted in the introduction to the Favorite Surface Flies for Steelhead series on Salmonfly.Net. To see more flies in the series, return to Favorite Surface Flies for Steelhead.

*Note: I recommend attaching two hackles for palmering. You only need one, but  just in case you inadvertently cut one when trimming the body hair, or break one while winding, you will be happy that you had the second as a backup.
