Green Head was tied by by Contributing Fly Tyer Mike Foster, a variation of his original Egg Head. He gives credit to this variation to Rex Collinsworth as noted below.

Mike's Notes: These are Mike's Notes about the Egg Head , the original fly.

He also writes, "The Green Head was originated by fishing partner, teaching colleague, neighbor, and friend, Rex Collinsworth.  He was tying Egg Heads one evening and had the inspiration to put green rather than flame on the head… It was an immediate success for us and we have used it ever since as an alternate to the original Egg Head.  I usually go to it second before trying other flies for uncooperative fish."
