Tail Four marabou feathers, purple over blue over turquoise over purple, with four strands of purple UV Krystal Flash tied on each side.
Hackle Purple saddle hackle.

Egg Head Red chenille

It is easy to tie this pattern. It is very similar to the Rotapixie pattern and not very different from the standard wooly bugger familiar to all tyers. I like to wind a heavy wire rib through the palmered hackle after the hackle is wrapped; this makes the fly last a lot longer when dealing with toothy fish like salmon. I tie in the saddle feather at the front of the fly, wind it back and then wrap the wire forward through the hackle.
