Green Butt Skunk Example 10
This version of the Green Butt Skunk was tied by Oregon fly tyer William Lovelace for a his series Creativity in Fly Tying: Varying the Approach to Tying the Same Fly with Different Materials and Styles. (which see)
Bill's notes: "Here we have
come full circle back to GB Skunk #1 with one anomaly. I put the
brown tail in for a discussion of how the red color we see as we
tie will fade to a dull brown as the fly goes deeper but
Fluorescent colors will remain true far deeper. What we see is not
always what the fish see. Think of this as seeing #1 in about 10’
of water." Read more about William Lovelace and his flies at The Flies of William Lovelace.
