Ally’s Shrimp (Gowan’s Original)
Ally’s Shrimp was tied by William Lovelace, one of the most prolific contributors on this site. You can find many more of his flies at his page on this site, The Flies of William Lovelace. Read Bill's notes about this fly below: Bill's Notes: The body proportions are important on this fly. The tail can be up to 2 times the body length. The Squirrel veilings should reach the bend of the hook. The tippet fibers should reach the hook barb. Alastair has suggested that for Pacific fishing the rib could be Silver Tinsel.
