This is another fly named  Golden Demon tied by Salmonfly.Net Contributing Fly Tyer William Lovelace for the Salmonfly.Net issue "All that Glitters is not Gold". Bill is showing us that much that glitters (as steelhead flies go) is, in fact gold.

Bill's Notes: This pattern comes from The Complete Guide to New Zealand Trout Lures by Derek Quillam. Derek notes that originally the fly was an old English sea-trout pattern. The wing is made by folding over a slip of Bronze Mallard feather. The picture of this fly in the fly photo section of Derek’s excellent book shows a tail of Golden Pheasant Tippet.
