The Fox Fly (R. Bryans)
Tied by Stevie Munn

The Fox Fly

Name

The Fox Fly (R. Bryans)

Category Atlantic Salmon
Hook Double 8 – 12
Body Silver or pearl flat tinsel
Rib Silver wire
Hackle Guinea Fowl
Wing Pheasant red breast feather, black squirrel, Temple dog or buck tail, golden pheasant topping and a couple of strands of pearl twinkle (optional)

The Fox Fly was tied by Irish fly fishing instructor and guide and Salmonfly.Net contributing fly tyer, Stevie Munn. Although it was tied for Atlantic Salmon, it is one of those flies that could easily cross over as a Steelhead fly.

Stevie's Notes: "This Bobby Bryans pattern has been taking both dollaghan and salmon on the Lough Neagh system for years. A great pattern."

You can see more of the flies tied by Stevie Munn at The Flies of Stevie Munn.
