Current News & Events

April 21st.

The "April Showers" game took off with many games on the new speedball field. Team Ice Gliders were selling some leftover Inferno paint (from tourney), and Dragonsports even had a group come out to hand out prizes and give advice. There were several costumed Freaks that showed up as well as an old Tourney player who came to give advice.

Once everyone got warmed up the games moved into the new woods field. This is when the 30+ vs. Teens and Twenties crowd started up. As everyone expected the Teens and Twenties put it into high gear and kicked the garbage out of the old... and tired vets.

Next came several annihilation games where speed, ambushing, and wide flanking movements were the norm. New players to the sport were even starting to communicate, and involving themselves with the old "pros"!!! Some said the best of these games was when both teams coincidentally decided to set up ambushes. This was a first for Mike's woods, with tons of crawling, and sneaking at the beginning, but not much shooting.

Next came the famous "New Team Coming IN!!!!!" games. Congrats to Mike, Gumby, and the rest for being the last ones on the field. We set the clock for 15 minutes and said every time 5 people got out they could regenerate, and start playing again by yelling "New Team Coming IN!!!!!" Since the HQ was in the center of the field it sometimes turned out to be more like in D-day when the ramps to the landing craft were lowered...

1 on 1 Tourney / Grudge match info.

When everyone was done with the woods games we all moved to the speedball course. A 1 on1 tourney, and numerous grudge matches were held, here are the results:

Jesse Masten got the newbie division 1 on 1 award (Tippmann hat), and the Top Time award (the new Dragonsports shirt).

Mike VanGundy earned the "Expert" Division award (Smart Parts Hat).

Tim "Gumby" won the pain game grudge match for the nickname of Gumby (got to keep his "Gumby" jersy).

And last Cody Morgan won the most generous player award earning himself a bag of Marbalizer paint.

Good job to everyone out there!

And the finale.....

Pizza, Lasagna, Pepsi, and Diablo paintballs were some of the highlights on the menu for the Dinner. It was potluck style with everyone bringing something. Some Smart Parts catalogs were handed out, and group photos (soon to be posted) were taken.

Refreshments taken place everyone tramped over to the speedball field to finish up the day with Bunker drills courtesy of Gumby, and some speedball games. The sun however was getting low, and making it hard for the far side of the field.
