Jesus praying in the garden.

In The Garden, Jesus Prayed!

The garden played an important role in the life of Jesus, for it was there where He loved to pray and meet with His disciples. And it was also in the garden where Jesus was betrayed, crucified, buried and resurrected.

“And now they came to an olive grove called the Garden of Gethsemane, and he instructed his disciples, "Sit here, while I go and pray.”
Mark 14:32

“When Jesus had spoken these words, He went forth with His disciples over the ravine of the Kidron, where there was a garden, into which He Himself entered, and His disciples. Now Judas also, who was betraying Him, knew the place; for Jesus had often met there with His disciples.”
John 18:1-2

“At the place where Jesus was crucified, there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had ever been laid.”
John 19:41

Jesus loved us so much that He willingly gave His life in the garden, redeeming us with His blood from the dominion of Satan. He took the weight of the world’s sin (yours and mine) upon Himself when He was put to death in the flesh on the cross.

“But he paid for you with the precious lifeblood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.”
1Peter 1:19

Then He was buried, and on the third day Jesus triumphed in victory as He arose from the tomb. All the evil rulers and powers cowered in fear and dread as Jesus stripped them of their power and made a public spectacle of them.

“[God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross].”
Colossians 2:15

Now Jesus is seated at the right hand of God far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named.
Ephesians 1:20-21

It was in the garden that Jesus died, was buried and rose from the dead; and it’s in the garden of the heart where we need to die to our selfish ways and bury our old sinful nature. When we receive the gift of Jesus Christ, who paid the penalty for our sin, we too are redeemed from the power of Satan and resurrected to a new life in God’s kingdom.

The Father, the Gardener of your heart, is waiting.

Do you believe that God raised His Son, Jesus, from the dead? Will you turn from your sin in repentance? Will you embrace the sacrifice of Jesus as payment for your sin? Will you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior?

If your answer is yes, then pray this prayer with me now.

Father, I believe that Jesus is Your Son, and that He died for my sin on the cross and rose again. Forgive me for my sin. I am sorry for going my own way; now I want to go Your way. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus. I surrender my life to you.
Amen.

If you believe this in your heart and sincerely prayed this prayer, you are redeemed, purchased back from the hand of the enemy. You now have a new Lord and Savior, One who loves you very much—Jesus Christ. In Him you are a new creation. All your past sins and mistakes are forgiven, no matter how bad they were. A baby is a new creation. Does it have a past? No, of course not, and now neither do you.

“When someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand new person inside. He is not the same anymore. A new life has begun! All these new things are from God who brought us back to himself through what Christ Jesus did".”
2 Corinthians 5:17-18

You also have this promise:

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become
children of God, to those who believe in His name”
John 1:12
