Well... the builing work has begun...
I've got the internal damp-proofing done, a new electric meter in, the re-wiring has begun and the path is in the process of being laid at the minute. I'm hoping to take some photo's of the house through the whole procedure (I'm already kicking myself for not getting any before work began).
Have had no time to even breath in the direction of my webpage this week, I am SO stressed with work. But check out the "Fun" section and the "Piccies" section which are quite groovy. I spent the first night in my new house with a Jonny and we had our sleeping bags and a few candles. We didn't have:
A bed
Electrics
Heating
Water
Common Sense
I think I'm now coming down with cold and a rather sore throat (of the swollen gland variety) and feeling a bit daft, but at least it was a good night, we stayed up talking till... probably about 3am then cuddled a little and fell asleep, about 4am we both woke up and it was freezing cold! ~:oP
I tried to turn the water on for the loo, but instead it all started coming out of a pipe attached to one of the radiators which didn't seem to want to stop. It did eventually, after words such as "boilers", "water", "right through the system" and "don't panic" came to mind. Apparently (when I saw the builder this morning) I was supposed to stick the pipe out of the front door if I wanted the water on. (I don't think they were expecting me sleeping over!)
Anyway, I'm quite happy (if still cold) with the way that the work for the house is going and am feeling groovy about the whole thing!
