VARIATIONS : Many people find it difficult to know what the variations in the brooches are. In these pages I hope to use my collection to illustrate these.  Cowboys with closed rings? Policemen with bobbles ?  Just take a look....

Mistakes/Mis-stamps : My main interest in Golly brooches is the Robertson's ranges and their variations. I also collect mistakes and mis-stamps. These are usually one-offs and  can look very weird. Take a look at some of them and see what you think .

Ranges : The Robertson's badges are usually released in ranges of between 10 and 21 brooches. Pictures of typical sets can be seen by clicking the golly on the right. This page will hopefully contain information about notable variations for each range too.

Stuff : Just some Golly stuff that I collect as well as the badges. Lots of different things that I like with Gollies on. Figures, thimbles, diecast vans and all sorts of stuff that I've found during my searches.

Pre-war : A little page to show my pre-war Gollies. There weren't many different ones before 1945 but they are very cute. Lovely colours and a few variations. Only golfers and cricketers on here . I'll sort out my pre-war fruits when I can.....

golls.jpg (15048 bytes)Balloons : There are also a range of Golly balloon brooches that are wonderful. They are expensive and hard to find but are based on the four Golly balloons that exist. Click on the picture to view the ones that I have.

Gollies Everywhere : There isn't only the Robertson's Golly. The image of the Golly has popped up throughout the 20th century and he's been seen with some famous characters. These pages are to defend this charming and historical character and to try and define what he is and where it's from. It is not comprehensive but I'll post any new information when I get it.

Jelly Babies : Robertson's distributed a range of 6 Jelly Baby badges and also produced Jam in 'Jelly Baby flavour' . This may not be the complete information about them but it's all I have at the moment. Anyone know any more ?

Advertising : I have some adverts from the 1940's and 1950's that appeared in magazines. In these you can learn the Robertson's Gollie's REAL NAME.... According to one of the adverts his real name is .... well... I don't want to spoil it for you .

Evolution : Golly brooch designs have changed/evolved/improved over the years. I've put together some little pictures that show what has happened to a few of the more common designs.

Figures : A few little pictures of my Golly figures. These are not from Robertson's but are very , very nice. Take a look. I'll be adding to this page when I can ....
