In 1981 my daughter Meg and I were fortunate enough to acquire Gay Tribute 28853, a line-bred Mansfield/line-bred Dapper Dan Morgan gelding. We've been involved with Morgans ever since.

In 1988, just as Meg was starting college, we acquired Trib's sister Mikk's Gay Glady 026023, a line-bred Mansfield/line-bred Jubilee de Jarnette former park mare, who became MY trail and driving horse. Glady, an official "Grand Old Mare" according to the December 1994 Morgan Horse, gave us 4 foals, whom (since my Meg's a writer and I'm a librarian) we named for authors:
Robert A. Heinlein in 1989, & Andre Norton in 1990

Followed by these nice Morgans
Manly Wade Wellman in 1991, and Jack Finney in 1992.
Glady died in 1994, and Trib joined her in 1997, but we've continued on. Andy [Andre Norton] has replaced her dam as my trail horse/driving horse/ broodmare, and she has produced these fine foals:
Tony Fennelly in 1996 (Read about Tony) &
Jack Vance in 1998 (Read about Vance) to add to the herd.
In 2002, our 4th generation arrived:
Raphael Aloysius Lafferty [Chapel Hill Elijah x Tony Fennelly](Read about Rafe) and Georgette Heyer [Dancastle Icefalcon x Dancastle Stormwatch].
We had intended to continue to breed the versatile, willing, intelligent, loving Morgans we cherish for as long as we live, but after 25 years in Morgans, circumstances can change plans. Our horses are dispersed, at least for now, while other aspects of our lives come into prominence. We'll always remain proud, however, of our beloved horses, who have so enriched our lives--Gay Tribute, Mikk's Gay Glady, Robert A. Heinlein, Andre Norton, Manly Wade Wellman, Jack Finney, Ursula K. Le Guin, Anne McCaffrey, Tony Fennelly, Jack Vance, Georgette Heyer, and R. A. Lafferty.
