Brownies

Element: Earth.

Their ears are slightly pointed and they have long, nimble fingers. They like the attic, wood, shed, or cellar of a human home best. Heat these areas for them, and feed them well to keep them. Their favorites foods are milk, honey, ale, and cake. Most Brownies are keenly intelligent. Th only exception is the Dobie who, though dull-witted, still has a large heart. Dobies greatly wish to be of help to their human hosts but usually only make grand messes due to their lack of intellect.

How to contact: Invite them to your circle or home, leave out food and milk for them, and lock up your cat.

Their principal occupation is the protection and healing of wild life, though they may occasionally help a human along on his or her spiritual quest. Sharing a tradition with the Amish and Orthodox Jews, married male Gnomes grow beards, and married women cover their hair. How to contact: Contact not advised!
Magickal and Ritual help: None.

Irish Elves are dwarf-like in appearance, usually sporting green or blue clothing and red caps. Males, females, and children have all been seen. They are friendly, but wary of humans. These trooping faeries are beings who live within the Earth among the tangled roots of sacred trees. They go abroad during the night to aid woodland animals and occasionally reward a virtuous or unselfish human being by some act of kindness. Irish Elves do their rare good deeds to humans out of the joy of giving, and any act of overt thanks will drive them permanently away.
Where to find them: At the base of sacred trees in dense woodlands.
How to contact: ask them to appear to you in the physical when you are in your circle, or go to Faeryland and seek them out.
Magickal and Ritual help: Irish Elves may be useful in spells for home protection, environment help, and shoemaking. Jinn

Element: Air.
Appearance and Temperament: Jinn’s used to be both male and female, but in the staunchly patriarchal Arab countries, they came to be seen as wholly male. But because they were occasionally housed in receptacles such as bottles which are also chalices symbolizing the feminine principle of deity, they were certainly also female in equal numbers. They live in bottles and oil lamps from which they appear when summoned by their masters or owners and grant wishes. Where to find them: Unknown.
How to contact: Unknown.
Magickal or Ritual help: If you can find one, anything you wish must be granted to you.

Where to find them: In caves and mines.
How to contact: Call to them, ask their aid, or make a simple evocation to your circle. But keep in mind that these faeries have a strong will of their own, and they are not likely to respond unless they choose to do so. People who have access to caves can start to build a relationship with them by leaving libations.
Magickal and Ritual help: Call them to help you find your way out of a mine or cave. Then follow the knocking to be led out. If you work in any type of underground facility, leave out food for them. Befriending them will induce them to warn you of impending disasters.

How to contact: They will not respond to any known evocations or invitations.
Magickal and Ritual help: Leprechauns can help guide you to the cauldron, or crock of gold, which symbolizes spiritual attainment. In this it is not unlike the Grail quests of the Arthurian tradition. Because of this long association with gold, Leprechauns may be helpful in giving energy to prosperity spells. They can also be persuaded to look after finer horses.

Sylphs

Element: Air.
Appearance and Temperament: Sylphs appear as very small, winged creatures whose features are vaguely human. They are so light in color and body as to be virtually transparent.
