Information about and from "First Date," the fourteenth episode of the seventh season.

Episode Summary:
Buffy and Xander get dates. Oh, lucky them! But, of course, nothing is ever what it seems in Sunnydale. Turns out, that sweet young thing that Xander's hooked up with is neither sweet nor young, and Buffy learns that Principal Wood is more than he seems. In the meantime, Giles is concerned about everyone's romantic downtime, and the First tries to enlist Andrew's help again.

Review:
There's a lot of interesting play between characters in this episode. The tension between Spike and Buffy is well balanced, and Anya's uncertainty over Xander's date is very universal and accessible. As for Xander's "date," I have to make a purely technical point, here. There is no way that Xander would have been fixed with a gauze pad after being stabbed in the abdomen and donating that much blood. Not gonna happen. But, I'm glad he's okay....

And a quick plea to the writers…I hope that Principal Wood isn't going to take the direction that he's threatening to—ie, turning against Spike (and therefore, Buffy). Hopefully, he'll grow a brain, and see that the First is pushing him for its own gain.
