Vacation 2000 ~ Gallery 1

Fire in the Sky
I arrive at the Las Vegas Airport on Monday morning a mere 45 minutes after I left Omaha (when you account for the time change) and capture my first UFO on film! Either that or I just bought crappy film.
Fremont Street
The downtown area was kind of neat, although it was more compact than I expected it to be. Since the Fremont Street Experience was built, it has been turned into a pedestrian mall.
New York-New York
The sight of the front of New York, New York has to be seen at night. This is a nice daytime pic, unfortunately none of my nighttime pics of the hotel came out.
Slots A Fun
This small casino was a short walk north from the Stardust and had $3 blackjack tables, so being the low roller that I am I ended up playing a lot of blackjack here, until I discovered the $1 tables up at the Sahara.
Caesar's Palace
This is a great view of the sprawling Caesar's Palace property from across Las Vegas Boulevard. I found the gardens to be more impressive than the casino.
Monte Carlo
This is the fancy scenery outside the front of the Monte Carlo. Really pretty and all, just like Caesar's, but the joint was just a little too ritsy for my tastes.
Speed - the Ride
Oops! I just lost my change! This was by far the most visible roller coaster in town which travels alongside the Sahara and into the Nascar Cafe.
Bellagio

This pic doesn't give justice to the size of this huge 12 acre lagoon in front of the Bellagio where they have fountain shows set to music. An absolute must see at night.
Sam Boyd's Fremont
This is the sign outside the Fremont casino where Wayne Newton is supposed to have debuted in the showroom. Eek!
Eiffel Tower

I decided to take the scenic route to Vegas by going through France first! No no, it's just the replica Eiffel Tower outside the Paris Hotel.
