HALO 2: Updates
Tank
This is a standard tank, looks pretty much like a
M1Abrams. It comes equipped with a 7" cannon to make
the covenants lives miserable and also has a
machine gunner. It's well armoured and offers
a good shelter for infantry men. There's not much
more to say really, like already stated it's pretty standard.
And it offers standard alien whacking fun of course.
Covenent Jeep
A vehicle that functions much like the human jeep
except that it look much more advanced. It can
carry three covenants and is also armed with a large
laser cannon that hovers above the roof of the jeep.
Yes, it hovers. Why the hell it does that i do not
know, seems like making things a bit to complicated.
The only reason i could imagine is if maybe you can
actually take the gun and mount it on the ground
instead. That would explain it as the faster you can
get it of the better. Why you would want to do
that is another issue. Could be if the jeep is badly
damaged and you need to fortify yourself behind
some rocks. Once again, wild speculation here.
Flamethrower
While we're already on the Alien 2 theme i might as
well continue with this baby. There is very little
(more like none) information about the flame
thrower and only one screenshot featuring it yet but
my guess is Bungie will keep it pretty much to the
basics. In other words a great short range weapon
that will do lots of damage. You will have to be
careful with your comrades tho and it might be
prone to blow up if hit.
Machette
I suppose I don't have to go into any closer detail
how this weapon works. To quote Antonio Banderas
from Zorro: "The pointy end goes into the other
man". While this melee weapon is a last line of
defence and should not be used unless you're out of
ammo or suicidal it's funfactor is undeniably very
high. The satisfaction from cutting aliens to pieces
with razor sharp blades cannot be argued.
Minigun
The minigun consist of three rotating barrels that fire
of 19mm rounds at an extremely fast rate and it has
a large ammo canister on the side that will support
alot of action. It will in other word be a bad ass mofo
gun of pure lethality. It's area of usage will include
such things as gunning down unprotected Covenant
en masse and the great anger-venting move of filling
a single enemy with 500 slugs. The miniguns armour
piercing capabilites are unknown but if they exist this
weapon will be very effective against tanks aswell
Covenent Sniper Rifle
This weapon has only been seen in one screenshot
and in the Halo "wazuup" movie parody. It has never
been seen firing so it being a sniper rifle is pure
speculation. This is the general theory as for now
and i'm going with it to. After all it is long, sleek
looking and well.. it has that sniper appearance I guess.
Energy Sword
This is an extremely cool looking stabbing weapon
with a blade of pure energy. However you create
such a thing is a mystery, espcially considering that
the only solid part of it is a small handle, but what
the hell, you shouldn't overanalyze sci-fi weapons
anyway. Bottom line is that it will cut through
anything and anyone(that means you marines!). On
a more personal note I would like to say that this is
the weapon that made me interested in Halo in the
first place. I am overjoyed that i finally have a reason
to bring out my old Darth Vader mask and my black
robe whenever i play MP games. Cortana, I am your father!
