A-Z OF HORROR (VG-) (2 TAPES, counts as two selections)  2 DVD-Rs $15 (199?)  Presented by Clive Barker. Created as a companion piece to Clive Barker's book of the same name, this documentary covers everything from Grand Guignol to Godzilla and Ed Gein.  A must for any fans of horror documentaries. There is some transfer jumping in the first few minutes. This is the best documentary on the horror genre you will see. DVD-R VHS

ALIEN ATTACK  (EX) (199?)  This fake alien attack actually tricked alot of people.  This is best described as the alien Blair Witch.  A family celebrates a birthday, but the lights go out.  The two sons go out to check on the fuse box and find a UFO crashed in the woods with big-eyed Aliens coming out to check the damage.  Eventually the Aliens reach the house and all hell breaks loose. DVD-R  VHS

AMERICAN COMPOSERS: JOHN CAGE/ PHILLIP GLASS (VG+) Two excellent documentaries on the great minimalist, 20th century composers. Includes interviews and rare performance clips. DVD-R VHS

AMIN: THE RISE AND FALL (VG-) (1980) Directed by Wade Huie.  The Repulsive tyrant of Uganda who raped, tortured, and ate his people is presented in this twisted docu-drama. DVD-R VHS

AN HOUR WITH PINK FLOYD (VG) Watch Pink Floyd perform Atom Heart Mother and other songs without an ocrhestra in a studio. Excellent tape. DVD-R VHS

ATLANTIS (VG-) (1991) Directed by Luc Besson. A beautifully shot documentary on the underwater universe of sea life. In Koyaanisqatsi fashion, the film uses slow-motion, sped up footage, and montage to present the blue abyss below. DVD-R VHS

BERMUDA TRIANGLE (VG) (1979) An outdated documentary on the mysterious disappearances that have occurred within the enigmatic Bermuda Triangle. DVD-R VHS

Soft Self Portrait of Salvador Dali (VG+) television special, narrated by Orson Wells, starring Salvador Dali,          about Dali's life and work. A very informative and interesting documentary for any fan of Dali's work. Also includes a 1 minute advertisement for this program. Two French television commercials starring Salvador Dali - one is for Lanvin Chocolates, the other is for Alka-Seltzer. An interview with Alfred Hitchcock discussing the dream sequences of Hitchcock's film Spellbound, in which Dali provided special effects. Segment of a television documentary program including interviews with Man Ray and Salvador Dali, and the making of Un Chien Andalou.    DVD-R VHS

DirtyCop - No Donut (1999) (VG) In this pseudo-shockumentary, you will see the public's worst nightmare become a reality as a demented "officer of the law" goes over the edge and exacts his own brand of justice on almost everyone he encounters on a ten hour graveyard shift. See him mutilate rapists,  annihilate druck drivers, proposition ladies of the evening for sexual favors, and steal a local drug dealer's stash for his own use! And the spiral downward just continues from there, as he encounters vagrants and a domestic dispute that drive him completely out of his drug-clouded mind! Worse yet, there is the uncaring cameraman, who dispassionately and cruelly lenses the events as they unfold without lending a helping hand to any of the unfortunate victims as they are terrorized by this maniac cop! In fact, he seems to get off on all this as much as the cop. DVD-R VHS

DON'T LOOK AT ME (VG) (1989) This documentary on the director of Eraserhead and Blue Velvet is very stylish and original in presentation.  Lynch rides around Los Angeles with the late Jack Nance in the backseat as the two discuss their creative history.  A must for fans of David Lynch. DVD-R  VHS

EAT the DOCUMENT (1972) (G+) This film was originally intended to be a concert film for television, but was re-edited by Dylan to include backstage footage, private jam sessions, and sight-seeing in the cities of the tour. Presented without narration, it is a rather incomprehensible film, but it does capture the hectic and tedious feeling of the life of a musician on the road. A definate "must-see" for hardcore fans of Bob Dylan, his work, and his history. Also included: Cab ride with John Lennon and Bob Dylan, Footage from a television special (late 60's?) with a very young Bob Dylan  playing two solo tunes, and one duet with Johnny Cash. JOHN FRUSCIANTE INTERVIEW PLUS LIVE KENTUCKY 1997/ ELECTRIC SET (VG-) Before Frusciante cleaned himself from heroin, there was an interview by a Danish film crew that captured the broken shell of a man close to death. An interesting study on Frusciante and drug abuse. The tape also contains and outdoor live set and an electric set with the bass player from Fishbone. DVD-R VHS

GENESIS MIDNIGHT SPECIAL 1974 /OXFORD 1973 (VG) Before Genesis became a household ipecac, they were an art rock band with great complexity in their music. Peter Gabriel was the singer and everything about his performances were odd. This collection has a TV show, a live concert, and one other performance. This is an excellent introduction to early Genesis. DVD-R VHS

GHOST WATCH (VG-) An interesting British pseudo documentary special on the supernatural world of revenants and ghosts. DVD-R VHS

GIRLS BITE BACK (VG) (1980) An interesting documentary on the rise of women music artists. The movie mainly covers Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Slits, with interviews with Robert Smith and Viv Albertine. DVD-R VHS

GONZO VOL. 1 (VG-) HUNTER S. THOMPSON ASSORTED INTERVIEWS. FROM LETTERMAN TO CONAN AND C-SPAN TO CHARLIE ROSE, THESE TAPES HAVE HOURS OF THE GREAT DR. GONZO'S WIT AND BITTERNESS. DVD-R VHS

THE HELLSTROM CHRONICLE (VG+) aka Hellstorm Chronicle. A pseudo-documentary about insects taking over the world, complete with Microcosmos like camera work. A very interesting use of the mad animal genre. The film was named after a fictitious swedish scientist: Nils Hellstrom. DVD-R VHS

MAGMA Compilation (VG/VG-) Excellent video of the great band that made up their own language and created a science fiction, epic sound that only they can produce. This collection is filled with live footage. DVD-R VHS

MANSON BANNED DOCUMENTARY (VG) (1972) This documentary actually goes into the desert and introduces the Manson Family and lets them speak their beliefs. A documentary that is very disturbing as tales of murderous machinations and sexual suicide punch you in the face. DVD-R VHS

THE MEIER CHRONICLES (VG+) (1979) A nice documentary about a man and his huge collection of UFO photographs. DVD-R VHS

PUNISHMENT PARK (1971) (VG-) A pseudo-documentary that follows the physical and mental torture of captured hippies and draft dodgers during Nixon-era America. The accused are forced find an American flag in the middle of the desert for 2 days without water; a police firing squad awaits the accuses attempts at escape. This is a disturbing look at the Vietnam War and the controversy that surrounded it.  DVD-R VHS

TRIBULATION 99: ALIEN ANOMALIES UNDER AMERICA  (VG+) (1992) An odd pseudo-documentary--made with stock footage and pop culture reels--that reveals an underground race of aliens that struck back at America after Atomic testing with a replicant Castro, the psychic vampire regime in Grenada, and the Allende plot to alter the Earth's axis. DVD-R VHS

WHOEVER TELLS THE TRUTH SHALL DIE (EX) (1981) English Subtitles.  An extremely well done Documentary on the conspiracy of the brutal Pier Paolo Pasolini murder.  The director of Salo: 120 Days of Sodom was stomped to death and than rolled over by a car numerous times.  This documentary leads to explanations of how the senseless murder could have been a planned act of silencing. DVD-R VHS

JOEL PETER WITKIN: LÕIMAGE INDELIBLE (VG) A great look into the process Joel Peter Witkin does to turn the dead into art. Witkin used body parts and entire carcasses to invent a new artform of filth. DVD-R VHS

XXX TRIPPING (VG) All you comic book fans will certainly enjoy this documentary on magic. Why? Because the great Alan Moore shows up to give his philosophies on the subject. DVD-R VHS
