Respiratory System
The respiratory system is the system of the body that deals with breathing. When we breathe, the body takes in the oxygen that it needs and removes the carbon dioxide that it doesn't need. The respiratory system includes the nose, nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses, parhynx, larynx, trachea, bronchial tree, and lungs.
Disorders
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (a large group of lung diseases which can interfere with normal breathing)(
- Asthma (a chronic, inflammatory lung disease involving recurrent breathing problems)
- Chronic Bronchitis (a long-term inflammation of the bronchi, which results in increased production of mucus)
- Pulmonary Emphysema (a chronic lung condition in which alveoli may be destroyed,narrowed, collapsed , stretched, orover-inflated )
- Cystic Fibrosis (an inherited disease characterized by an abnormality in the glands that produce sweat and mucus)
- Pneumonia (an inflammation of the lungs caused by bacteria, viruses, or chemical irritants)
- Tuberculosis (a chronic bacterial infection that usually infects the lungs)
