Urinary System
The urinary system consists of a pair of kidneys, which remove substances from blood, form urine, and help regulate certain metabolic processes: a pair of tubular ureters, which transport urine from the kidnets: a saclike urinary bladder, which stores urine: and a tubuar urethra, which conveys urine to the outside of the body.
Disorders
- Atheroembolic renal disease (A disease of the kidneys involving narrowing of the kidney blood vessels and/or blood clots that form in the renal artery as a complication of atherosclerosis)
- Glomerulonephritis (kidneys' filters become inflamed and scarred and slowly lose their ability to remove wastes and excess water from the blood to make urine)
- Kidney Stones ( when one or more stones are present in the pelvis or calyces of the kidney or in the ureter)
- Urinary tract infections (when bacteria, usually E.coli from the rectal area or other bacteria in the vicinity of the urethra, invade the urethra and start multiplying)
- Urethritis (Inflammation of the urethra)
- Interstitial cystitis (an infection of the bladder)
- Hematuria (blood in urine)
