September , 29 2003 ~11:54 PM~ What is the band doing??? plus: FIF and a Battle of the Bands. By Daniel

Well this past week was an amazing music week. Last monday Sierra, Michael Macininey (drums) Eddie Lord (guitar, vocals) and myself were asked if we'd play that night's battle of the bands at New Brookland Tavern to fill the spot of a band that had dropped out. We all decided to do it and that night we played to show. In the process we met the band MiKenPike and their awesome fans. Everyone was very nice. The resonse was inspiring and we gained a new excitement for our new project. Very very soon a brand new website will explain all about whats goin on, but the band isnt broken up, Sierra isnt a Buddist, and I'm not dead, I think. But most importantly, we're practicing, we're writing songs; independently and all together as a band, and we're even playing with the idea of adding some new instruments to the band. And thats the basic idea.
Oh yea, the other thing that made the past week so amazing. Sierra, Michael, Eddie, myself and a few friends of ours went to Georgia to see Five Iron Frenzy. The show was energizing, inspiring, and sad all at the same time, as this is FIF's last tour before they go their seperate ways. It was an amazing show.
Well guys, keep an eye open. Later!

Five Iron Frenzy, yea

July, 22 2003 ~3:40 AM~ Guitar Show wins first round of Battle of the Bands, David has left the band

From Daniel,

Tonight we won the first round of Black Candle Management's Battle of the Bands. Brian Hamby filled in on the drums having learned the material two days before the show. While Matt Geib filled in on guitar, having learned the material three hours before the show. The explanation for this is that as of Monday morning, David Porth has also left the band, doing so on good terms as Brian Fowler did. Though both of the departures come as a surprise, the band wishes David and Brian the best of luck. As far as the Battle of the Band goes, Sierra and I want to thank Brian Hamby and Matt Geib for their amazing help and congratulate them in the bands success in the competition. We also thank those of you who came out to the show. If you were unable to see this one, we will be playing in the finals on Friday, August 8.

July, 17 2003 ~1:07 AM~ Good luck Brian

As of last night, Brian Fowler has left the band. His exact reasons are still unclear but he has expressed that he is unhappy playing drums for Guitar Show and is indeed no longer a member of the band. In the mean time the band will prepare as well as possible for the upcoming battle of the bands. When more is known about the future of the band all of the information will be posted here in the news section. In the meantime keep an eye open. In closing the band wishes Brian the best of luck in his future endeavors and thanks him for his friendship and his contribution to the band.

July, 10 2003 ~12:30 AM~ The Battle of the Bands

The New Brookland Tavern is holding a Battle of the Bands all throughout late July and early August and the band has been offered a spot on Monday July 21at 11:15pm. One of the cool things about the contest is that the audience judges the competition. Hopefully you guys will be able to come check it out. In other news, the time has come to mail our demos out into the world of the "music business". Brian has been researching a few labels and we're finally gonna mail the new recording out and see what happens so I'll try to keep you guys posted on that. Well I'll be updating again soon, later guys,

Daniel

June, 1 2003 ~2:40AM~ June 16 show STILL ON, Headline show moved to June 30
We are still playing at the New Brookland Tavern on June 16, but we have been booked to open for Mary Prankster on that date. Our headline show has been moved to June 30 and will still be at the New Brookland Tavern.
May, 23 2003 ~7:51PM~ Daniel here with the latest
JUNE 16, we get to play our first headline spot at the New Brookland Tavern, JUNE 20 we record an EP and in JULY we're gonna do a little tour around South Carolina and one spot in Georgia. Mannnnnnnnnn I'm excited about the summer. The cool thing about the June 16 show is that we're getting to bring in the bands that will play with us and I'm really excited about what those bands are up to. The EP is exciting too because our "sound" has evolved quite a bit since we recorded "Once Around the Sun" which is actually older than it seems. Not to mention that our personel has changed and with the exception of one song on "OAS" Brian, our current drummer has yet to be recorded with the band. As far as the tour goes, check out the shows page, the cities we plan to play are listed and more info will be up soon. Well I'm going to go eat. Later guys,
Daniel
