Ryo woke to hear the moaning of a sweet voice he knew only too well.

"Raye." He murmured.

He looked over his shoulder at his nightstand and saw that it was only one in the morning. Two hours had passed since he had gone to bed.

"I wonder...,” Ryo thought to himself, "…how I could've heard her..."

It was no secret Ryo and Raye had some special connection. When one was troubled they would always end up sharing the pain together.

The Sailor Scouts had joined forces and lived a ways from the Ronins, they became close, very close. They had learned to cope with each other in many battles from their last encounter from evil (Star Striped Soldiers and Armored Warriors Fan Fiction Archive). Though Raye and her friends lived in the city, Ryo still somehow heard her moaning.

Ryo leapt from his bed and tripped over his pet tiger, White Blaze.

The tiger growled in a very annoyed way.

"Sorry boy!" Ryo said petting his friend.

The tiger stretched out a paw and curled back to sleep.

Ryo pulled on a plain white shirt over his bare chest. Below his waist were jean marks that made his skin look a bit red. The young man had a bad habit of sleeping in his jeans. But he didn't really care although they were heavy and rather rough to sleep in.

He didn't notice that his shirt read, 'Gone with the Pillow', a shirt he designed when he was younger.

Ryo pulled on his tennis shoes and socks and dashed downstairs.

It was very dark so Ryo didn't see that Kento was sleepwalking back up to his bed after a midnight snack. The two collided but Kento acted as if he didn't feel a thing. He passed Ryo and walked back to his room.

"Whew!" Ryo breathed. "I'm glad Kento is such a deep sleeper."

Being eighteen, Ryo had just gotten his license so he drove here and there in Mia's jeep. He actually preferred Rowen or Sage to do it but he didn't want to wake them this early.

Luckily he didn't have to ask for keys since he had a spare car key to both Sage's Mustang and Mia's Jeep. But Sage would skin Ryo alive before letting him drive it alone, so Ryo went with Mia's car. It didn't take him long to drive into the city that looked nothing more then a ghost town.

Ryo parked in the driveway of 345 South Town drive and kept going till he got to Sun Crest, the neighborhood the girls lived in.

It was the tall White House on the far left. And there was Raye huddled on the porch swing.

Her purple eyes lifted to his as Ryo walked up and knelt beside her.

“Hey.” Ryo said simply.

“You heard me?” She asked sitting up in surprise.

“Yeah, guess so. Are you ok?”

Raye’s face was sweating and her eyes looked like they had seen a ghost.

“I'm fine it was only a nightmare.”

“Ya sure?” Ryo asked knowing it was more then a scare-you-out-of-your-skin bad dream.

Raye stood up. Her eyebrows were hammered into her eyes.

“Of course I’m sure! If I needed anything, the girls are right here.” Her voice was annoyed and sharp.

“Hey, hey!” Ryo said waving his hands defensively in front of her. “I didn’t know ok?”

“Well now you do. So go back and get some sleep!”

Ryo was well used to Raye now and he loved everything about her. It was all about the way she talked in a challenging way. It aroused the spark in Ryo’s heart.

Ryo grabbed Raye’s arm and pulled her close to him.

“I’m always here if you need me.”

“When would I ever need you?” Raye asked pulling away.

“I’m guessing now would be a good time.”

Ryo folded his arms and leaned against the door.

“Tell me about your dream, Raye.”

“I told you it’s nothing.” Raye said pulling her knees against her chest. Her khaki shorts were wrinkled and her red tanks were worn to bed every night.

“Uh-huh. You sure fool me.”

“Oh alright!” Raye exclaimed. She grit her teeth. ‘How does he do that?’ She wondered.

“Well it was about this Black Hole deep in space...Somehow it became a Black Star and then it sped through Earth and I heard this laugh. It was cold and very familiar.” She sighed. “See? It was just a bad dream.”

“Alright, I’ll go back to bed.” Ryo said casually. He walked down the front steps and looked back at her.

“If you want a goodnight kiss now’s the time.” He said with a grin.

Raye stared at him for a moment. She sighed.

“I’m too weak to resist.”

She skipped a few stairs and walked to his face and stroked his hair.

They pressed their lips together in a kind respectful manner.

“I’ll see you at school alright?” Ryo said kindly. “And if you have anymore nightmares don’t hesitate to give me a call.”

“I’ll probably be asleep by the time you get here.” Raye said grinning. She saw Ryo raise an eyebrow at her and he drove off.

Raye bowed her head in guilt. It was no ordinary nightmare.
