I didn’t know how big Earth was when your two front feet where on it. Tokyo was a massive city! I walked through the crowds. Not making eye contact with any one. I had to warn the Scout leader first.I had some clothes to wear when I arrived. A jean skirt and a hooded white sweatshirt. My feet wore brown sandals. Time seemed so fast here. It took about five minutes to walk two blocks. I was a fast walker after all; I had an important job to do.

I looked at the places I passed, a dentist, a doctor’s office, a nursery for flowers, and a hotel. I looked away. I had to focus my mind on what I was here for. I don’t know how long I walked in this city but it was well after four last time I looked at a clock. I stopped and looked to make sure the street was clear so I could cross and I crossed.

I walked another block down and didn’t notice that many young men were staring at me. My stare was on the pavement. And without realizing it I collided with a built figure.

My back and elbows fell on the pavement but the pain was nothing compared to what I’ve felt in battle.

“I’m so sorry miss!” A young man said lifting me up.

“No need to apologize.” I said looking away. “I should’ve watched were I was going.” My hair swayed with the breeze.

“I’ve never seen you before. Do you live around here?”

“That’s not your concern.” I said sharply. I looked at him and almost took that remark back but my pride held my stare. He was tall and good-looking. His dirty blond hair was cut short and some bangs covered the sides of his face. He had a blue jean baseball cap on and a white T-shirt and some worn jeans.

“I’m sorry for offending you. My name’s Toby Grail.”

I nodded my head. “Tara Fanoki.”

“That’s a pretty name.”

“I guess. I better not waste your time. Excuse me.” I tried to walk past him but he didn’t move.

“Are you heading for the science fair?”

“Science Fair?”

“Yeah it’s going on right now. If you’re going I’ll be happy to escort you.”

“That won’t be necessary.” I said walking away. “I can manage to go alone.” Even though I was a couple of yards away I knew he was still looking at me.

“I hope I’ll see you again, Tara!” Toby called after me but I ignored him.
