Another year has gone by since I lost my mom. It does get easier with time but it never stops me from missing her.
Today is also my brother-in-law's birthday. He is a welder and in the past year or two he has (finally) started doing metal artwork.
He made my dad and us things out of old plow discs to hang outside and several local businesses have ordered one. I'll have to take a picture of it and post it. If we ever get together for more than a few minutes I'm going to put a webpage together
for him. It will be added to the new look for Ludlow's Place. Or at least a place holder for now..
We finally have a phone again which means we finally have internet at home.
YAY!
The downside is that my computer bit the dust. I was hoping to get a few things off of there first, like oh say, my genealogy database...... it just wasn't in the cards though. We went to format the HD and start from scratch but it's being a real booger. Maybe in a week we will
be able to get it back up and running. One of Craig's friends has our OS disk and he is out of state right now. His brother is being deployed to Iraq so his family is spending a week with him before he leaves.

Jill came by this past weekend with her fiancee, Justin. He is the brother of Scott's ex, Amanda, but we won't hold that against him. He's a really great guy, I'm very happy for her.
I had a very nice birthday, except for having another infection in my lungs. I went to the doctor that morning and got some antibiotics though. We went out to eat at Cracker Barrel cuz I love that place.
A girl Scott knows from school, Melinda, was working and was supposed to come by after work to hang out but had to go deal with her sister. She played his wife in one of the high school plays, Tony & Tina's Wedding
Everyone spoiled me as far as gifts go and I have to admit that I enjoyed it :)

I guess Waco is finally on the map. Actually, we have been on the map since the whole Branch Davidian thing but no one has really let on. I mean, the president lives near Waco but we are hardly ever mentioned in connection to that even though he lands his plane here and uses our tax dollars
for his protection when he is in town.
Steve Martin was born here yet they had banned his records back in the 80's. Jennifer Love Hewitt is from Hewitt, which is the other side of Waco. (That's where she got the Hewitt part of her name.) Shannon Elizabeth is also from Hewitt. Jessica and Ashley Simpson are from Robinson, which is just outside of Waco.
I used to work in Robinson. Mandy Moore's grandparents are here and Dr. T. Berry Brazelton is also a Wacoan.
We are home to The Texas Sports Hall of Fame and the Elizabeth Barrett-Browning library is at Baylor University, which is also here.
We are home to the Texas Shootout Drag Boat Races and our mammoth dig has been designated a national park.
Yet when they filmed the movie about the Branch Davidians they went to Oklahoma. Makes sense, I'm sure Oklahoma looks more like Waco than Waco does.
Funny thing is, that didn't actually happen in Waco, it happened in Elk, outside of Waco. But still, they put us on the map. We have had a growth explosion since the Branch Davidians.
Construction everywhere.
Walker - Texas Ranger....... When they needed to shoot an episode at the Texas Ranger Hall
of Fame here in Waco, well..... they decided it would be better to just build a duplicate in CA or somewhere. All of this flat land I suppose. It's not very photographic except at sunset and some sunrises.
But now someone is actually doing a movie in our area, in a nearby town called Marlin. (I guess in all fairness I should mention that
someone local did an indie film here last year. Something to do with roadkill, I think.) Anyhow, the movie will be starring Jeff Daniels and Sigourney Weaver. They have an ad in today's paper looking for old vehicles. From Model A's up to 1961.
Ah Ha! You knew I was going into all of this for a reason ;)
And poor, old Ludlow is siiting in a rusting heap in my dad's backyard :(
I'm working on a newer look and updating pages at Ludlow's Place for 2005. Just thought I'd mention that.
Oh, and Happy Birthday to me, tomorrow and to Rose the next day. Belated Birthday wishes go out to Lucy and Darcey!!! Damn, we're getting old.
