SAMe Is the next Best Thing For Drug Free Mental Health

SAMe, which is pronounced like the name Sammy and was introduced into the U.S. as a dietary supplement in 1998. Itis one of the newer alternatives that not only is sweeping the nation, but the world as being as effective as a prescribed antidepressants. This is big news for people who use dangerous drugs with unpleasant side effects.

SAM-e stands for S-adenosyl-L-methionine, which is a natural compound found in human cells. It is a natural, active form of the amino acid methionine and helps process a wide variety of neurotransmitters, including norepinephrine, dopamine, phosphatidylcholine, serotonin, and melatonin.
Low levels of these neurotransmitters are believed to play an important role in depression. Controlled studies have shown SAM-e to be effective in relieving symptoms of depression, and suggested it can work as well as (if not better than) prescription-strength tricyclic antidepressants according to the Department of Health and Human Services.

SAMe was found to be as effective as prescription antidepressants without any major side effects. SAM-e also worked faster than most prescription medications. Because it's a naturally occurring substance, SAM-e appears less likely to cause adverse side effects than synthesized drugs.

SAMe is also used to aid in joint problems, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Fibromyalgia (FMS), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and liver disease.

The only major draw back of the use of SAMe is the cost. The prices are coming down, however it is one of the more expensive products on the market. Typical prices range from 19.00-25.00 for thirty tabs, however the internet has some good deals on this wonderful product.

Please feel free to read these links about SAMe and discover the new alternative to treating your depression and anxiety.
