Stop auto refresh of Browser.

Some websites   automatically refresh the browser every minute so one can get the latest  banner. To stop this Double-click the Internet Options icon in the Control Panel, go to the Security tab, press the Custom Level button, and disable the option, "Allow META REFRESH".

Always Expand ALT Text for Images

Turned on the option expands the image size to fit all of the  text. This ensures that ALT text is not cut off if the amount of ALT text is larger than the image area.

Turn On or  Off Enable Page Transitions

Turned on, this option makes Internet Explorer fade out of a page you are leaving and fade into a page you're going to. Turned off, screen readers and voice recognition programs may perform better.

Turn On or  Off Print Background Colors and Images

Turned on, this option allows background colors and images to print when you print a Web page. Turned off, print legibility is often improved.

Improve surfing speed.

For best surfing speeds, we recommend you allocate at least 10MB of your drive to the browser. From the Tools menu, select Internet Options and choose the General tab. In the Temporary Internet Files section, click Settings. Under "Amount of disk space to use," drag the slider to the right; you should choose about 5 percent of your hard disk.

How to make a site as trusted site. Make www.apachesystems.com a trusted site
  • Go to the Tools Menu, choose Internet Options,
  • Select the "Security" tab, then select "Trusted Sites",
  • Add http://www.apachesystems.com  to your trusted sites,
  • You can also have to alter the security settings by moving the slider down to Medium -low, or by selecting the "Custom level" or "Default level " button and lowering the level of Internet security. Or select custom and set settings as shown in the top of this page.

Cannot Reinstall Macromedia Flash

When you go to a Macromedia Flash enabled website it gives you an error saying you need to install Flash despite the fact you've already installed it. So you reinstall it, but it does not work. The solution is to search your hard drive for a file called "swflash.ocx", normally in the C:\ Windows \ System \ Macromed \ Flash folder, and delete it. You should be able to then return to Macromedia's site and install the latest version of Flash with no problem.

Some  people have problems with fixed-width fonts on webpages or in HTML e-mails. There is a solution to this problem. Open up IE, select the Tools menu, then Internet Options and press the Accessibility button. At that point, you can choose to ignore the font sizes specified on Web pages.

 
Links in Outlook Express Stop Working

If a link in Outlook Express does not work,The solution  is re-register the URL monitor. 

Click on Start | Run and enter: "REGSVR32 URLMON.DLL" (without the quotes). You should get a  dialog  that the procedure was completed. 

Then turn on Internet Explorer and Click Tools, Internet Options Programs , then click the "Reset Web Settings" button. Now, check to see if Web links work like they should in your e-mail client. With any luck, you'll have returned your system to normal.
