Greatest witch on the Disc. Daughter of Violet Weatherwax and grandaughter of Alison Weatherwax. She was trained as a witch by Nanny Gripes. Then she learnt alot from other witches. Once they ran out of stuff to teache her, she taught herself.
Granny Weatherwax lives near Bad Ass in Lancre. She is the leader of the Lancre coven, which consists of herself, Nanny Ogg, Agnes Nitt, and sometimes Magrat Garlick
Granny's cottage is very old. It leans against itself for support. outside is a windsock on a pole, a dozen bee-hives, a small paddock of goats, a water butt and a herb garden. Passers-by swear they see the flowers that spring up around the house turn to watch them as they walk past.
Judging by Granny Weatherwax's personality, you would think that she was a "bad witch". She has a short temper and a sharp tongue, and is competitive, selfish and ambitious. She can often be unpleasant, but in times of danger, she is much needed.
