Re: Non-employe Submission Policy Agreement
our ref. 15473

Dear Mr. Knight:

Navistar International Corporation is always interested in considering ideas submitted by nonemploye inventors. However-, because of the large number of nonemployee submissions which we receive yearly, we have found it necessary to establish a standard policy regarding matters of this sort, as have other companies in similar circumstances. This policy is set forth in a Nonemployee Idea Submission Policy And Agreement of which two copies are enclosed for your examination. If you find our policy acceptable, please sign, date, and return one of these copies and retain the other copy for your records.

Upon receipt of the signed Agreement and sketches, blueprints, or copies of the ideas we will forward your disclosure to the appropriate personnel, qualified to understand and analyze the same, and upon receiving their report, we will again contact you.

We appreciate your considering Navistar in this matter and look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Very truly yours,

Mary D. DeRosier
