THE HERMIT
Description
The Hermit
stands against a simple blue background. He wears long flowing robes,
has a lantern in one hand and a staff in the other.
This is
the image of the Hermit, and an image that very clearly denotes wisdom.
The lantern
lights his path so that he may see the truth while the staff keeps his
balance, so he does not fall on the long journeys. His beard indicates
that he is old and wise and has seen many things in his lifetime. At the
point that he is at, he needs nothing other than the lantern and the staff
to aid him.
Divinatory
Meaning
This is
the card of Wisdom, and is often called so in many decks. To see
this card indicates that the person has reached a point where not only
do they have the experience in the matter, but they also have had the time
to know how to use that experience. This is the card of applied knowledge
and can indicate schooling and learning also.
Mostly,
I find that this card enables the person to use the skills that they have
in an long term situation and be able to take the knocks that come with
those duties easily.
This is
a good card to see, as it generally indicates that the person has 'arrived'
at a matter emotionally and intellectually.
