THE STAR
Description
A naked
woman kneels on a grassy bank. In one hand she pours water into the
lake and the other, she pours water to create rivers. The sky is
blue and it appears as though it is a fresh new day. In the sky there
are the stars, 8 in total. With 7 smaller stars and 1 major one.
It is suggested that this woman is a being from heaven sent to create create
the waters of the earth. I am not sure about the mythological background
surrounding this card, however this image is one that suggests hope and
creation. After the destruction of the Tower, this card almost suggests
rebirth and renewal arising from it's ashes. Where there was nothing,
the woman of the Star recreates matter on earth again.
The image
on this card is also like that of the card Temperance. Where the
woman of Temperance is balancing and seeing, the Star is balancing and
doing. It suggests that both of these actions lead to growth and
renewal in life.
Divinatory
Meaning
The Star
is a good card to see in a reading. It suggests that the person will
experience growth, renewal and luck. It is a card of fortune and
in some cases can represent fame directly. To see this card when
asking about love means that there will be a wonderful time had in a relationship
that will exceed any expectation and to see it regarding work indicates
that the person will reach great heights.
This is
usually a lucky card to see and it denotes that whatever the question asked,
the outcome will be glorious.
