Important Information
Aromatherapy: aro·ma·ther·a·py - noun - The use of volatile plant oils, including essential oils, for psychological and physical well-being.
Essential oils are concentrated, fragrant substances extract from plant sources. They are commonly used for aromatherapy applications such as air diffusion and body application.
Air diffusion is the dispersing and spreading of fragrance by means of various devices such as diffusers, lamp rings, aromadiscs and so forth.
Body application is the diluting of the fragrance and applying directly to the body through baths, massage and body care lotions and creams.
WARNINGS
Remember that this is JUST a guide tell your doctor what you are using!
Most oils, unless specifically mentioned, should not be used on the skin without first diluting with a suitable carrier oil!!! Pure essential oil can burn your skin if direct contact occurs.
Some oils, Champhor; Fennel; Hyssop; Sage & Rosemary, should not be used by persons with Epilepsy,.
Those who are pregnant should avoid using Aniseed; Basil; Clary Sage; Cypress; Cinnamon; Fennel; Hyssop; Jasmine; Juniper; Marjoram; Myrrh; Origanum; Peppermint; Rose; Rosemary; Sage; Thyme: Especially in the first three months. Since Oils can enter your bloodstream through the skin it may cause problems to the fetus.
Different Methods to use the Oils :
Massage, Bath , Inhalation, Diffusion, Compress
* Wherever neat (undiluted) application is to be used, read the general safety information and
description of the individual oil.
Carrier Oils (to dilute the essential oil) - any of following may be used with good results: Sweet Almond, Grapeseed,
Avocado, Jojoba, Olive, Sesame Seed, or any vegetable oil or lotion base.
Basic Essential Oils Blends to experiment with.
