The following pages list the 6,541 buses deliveries from General Motors Diesel Division when the bus assembly line was located in London, Ontario (1962 to 1978). These vehicles all have serial numbers starting at C001. Buses with M (for "Montréal") series serial numbers were built in the province of Québec.
In 1974 a final assembly plant was opened in the Montréal suburb of St-Laurent in order to satisfy the government of Québec's "buy locally" requirements. T6H-5307Ns M001 through M1105 were finished in this facility. In 1979 all bus construction was moved to a new plant in St-Eustache, where the balance of the M-series buses were built.
Commencing September 1980, regulations required a 17-digit VIN (vehicle identification number) which tells (when decoded) the country and date of manufacture; make, model and serial number; assembly plant and even some equipment spcifications. From then until GMDD sold its bus manufacuturing business to MCI (Motor Coach Industries) in August 1987, all buses were in a unified serial number sequence.
