History

1993The newly-formed NovaBUS company acquires the Motor Coach Industries bus manufacturing plant in St. Eustache, Quebec.
1994American subsidiary incorporated to acquired Transportation Manufacturing Corporation's RTS business from MCI.
1995Low-floor LFS model introduced.
1997"Classic" model discontinued.
1998Prevost Car Inc. acquires the assets of NovaBUS Corp.

Models

The Classic model was inherited from MCI (and its predecessor, General Motors Diesel Division). The model designations are as follows:

However, this system was soon abandoned for a variety of other series, none of which seemed to last for more than a few orders!

"LFS" simply stands for "Low Floor Series" (although it is sometime incorrectly referred to as a TL40-102).

Serial Numbers

The Classic and LFS models are each numbered sequentially from 001, restarting at the beginning of the model year. RTS serials started at 830405, following on from the last TMC RTS, and continue sequentially.
