January 28, 2002 - Monday
A very busy day!
This morning I got up when Fumihiko did, or ten minutes after him if you want to
be exact. I grabbed my pack of clothes and headed off with him to the apartment.
This morning he took the heater there as mine is still away being looked at.
I took a nap for about an hour then I took a shower and started to do laundry. It
was so simple doing it there. And I have my handy-dandy drying rack too, so it's
easy to dry things too. After I started the laundry I watched some of a video and
finally saw the big Friend's wedding. It was a hoot. What inspired casting to have Kathleen
Turner as Chandler's father.
I also watched some other shows and ate some cup ramen. I played Biohazard a bit
too, and I finished my novel. I think I'm going to take a new one tomorrow.
Just before 2 I started to get ready to go out, then I did. It was snowing a bit,
but it wasn't staying on the ground. I walked to a bank, with a small detour through
the post office. At the bank I took out some money then I paid my 2 water bills.
I hope that means I don't have to worry about one for a couple of months!
After that I went to City Hall and applied for a new Alien Registration Card. It
was quite easy and the guy spoke a bit of English, so it was fine. I'd taken my
photos a couple of days ago, they are ugly, but okay, so everything was in order.
I'd even remembered to take my passport! I was almost asleep last night when I remembered that
I'd need it. I jumped out of bed and got it out of its hiding place!
On the way back to the apartment I went into CD Brain, the second hand cd store.
I bought a couple of cds...one by Savage Garden and one by Tom Jones. Oh shut up!
It's Tom Jones with a lot of cool people, including Barenaked Ladies. Then I walked
back to the apartment via the bakery. I couldn't find a cafe on the way, so I had to go
there.
I was in the apartment for about 40 minutes, then I left again. This time I went
to Mr Donuts to meet my prospective teacher. She came and we had a nice chat. We
decided that we'd start lessons if she's okay in a couple of weeks. I'm glad, it'll
give me a bit of time past my birthday.
After we talked, I called Fumihiko and he came and got me. We drove to Super Denkodo
and looked at some DVD's. We got the special set of Toy Story 1 & 2, and Who Framed
Roger Rabbit. Fumihiko also picked up some black and white Spanish movie, which
doesn't have English on it, so I guess I WON'T be watching it!
Then we went to the apartment, picked up the heater and my clean clothes and came
home. We ate almost immediately, which was fine. Then I was subjected to more inane
Japanese TV until I started working on my computer. The TV is still on, but now
I don't care.
I hope to go to bed soon as I'm really really tired.
