July 27, 2002 - Saturday
Sunny, but thankfully not so hot.
Today was a pretty good day. I got to sleep in until 10 am. Then I had a great breakfast
of tempura and went to work.
Work was quite good today. One class got shuffled around a bit, so it actually made
my day better! Classes seemed to go quite well too.
I had been asked to go to karaoke tonight, but actually I didn't really feel like
going. Fumihiko brought me home and we ate supper. At 10:15 the Queen's Jubilee
Concert was on. We watched a bit of it, then I got Fumihiko to tape it for me and
we went out.
We drove to Yura beach and went for a walk along the bridge. It was very nice and
there were many people there. Some were letting off fireworks which was nice to look
at, but some weren't being very smart about it. A couple of people were letting
off rockets along the beach. They weren't shooting them up, they were shooting them along
the beach. One of them hit the bridge and the end of it crashed into the bridge
about 5 feet in front of us. It was scary.
We got out of the car at Kamo too and looked at the new swimming beach. It was hard
to see as there were no lights.
We came home via the convenience store and caught the end of the concert, literally
the end credits! Then Macbeth started. I LOVE Macbeth, I always did! I remember
most of the dialogue, even though I haven't read the play in years. I think I've
even got Fumihiko hooked on the story! He hasn't gone to take his bath yet! Shakespeare
rocks!
I still haven't heard how much the flood is going to cost me. I guess that no news
is good news?!
