Sunny but a bit cool, at least in Sendai!
I'm back from my big shopping trip. I had a great time! I stayed at the Hotel Metropolitan again and it was really great! I found out from their home page that they had a Ladies Plan, so I asked for that when I got Fumihiko to make my reservation. It was great! For ¥10000 I got a nice room, breakfast, a flower, and some body treatment stuff. I also got to check out late, which was really nice. I will definitely do that again!
I did a lot of shopping, but I ended up sending my stuff by courier! It was too heavy to carry around all day. I got lots of things for Christmas and more than a few things for me! Yes, I spent a lot of money, but so what? It was fun!
Today, I got up, had breakfast, then showered and watched a bit of Larry King Live. He had Jeff Bridges on and then Anne Rice, so I was interested in watching those two people. After they were done, I headed out shopping. I went to the bookstore, got a few books, then went and had coffee at Starbucks. I was a tad miffed because I wanted to take my coffee to go, but I couldn't. I wanted to go back to the room and relax. Oh well. I did get a bit of a break, about 25 minutes in the room to relax.
I checked out, sent my bags, and then went and did more shopping! I didn't buy much this time though. I did find something that I liked for my hubby for Christmas, then I headed off down the covered mall. I saw an Ecco shoe store and on my way by thought I should make a point of going in on the way back. I did, not really expecting to see anything I liked. Usually in Tsuruoka, I just see Ecco casual shoes. Well, when I went in the store, the clerk noticed me looking at a pair of shoes just like mine, but in another colour. We had a chuckle about that. Then, I saw a pair of pumps that looked very comfortable! I asked for my size and a pair of nylons to try them on with. They were great. The fit was excellent, except of course in the heel. I told the clerk that I would take them, but I had to go to the bank first! I had spent most of my money by that point and I didn't want to use my Canadian credit card. So, I ran to a bank and then came back and got them. They are gorgeous! Very plain, but perfect for work. I hope they'll be comfortable too.
After that I went to a Milky Way restaurant to eat a late lunch. I had chicken and salad bar. It was nice, then started moving in the general direction of the bus station. I detoured through the Aer building to have a last minute look at books (didn't buy any this time), use the washroom, and buy some water.
I got to the bus stop in time and waited for my bus. I got on board when it arrived and then I read for a while. I dozed too. I listened to my iPod on the way. Very nice. I was lucky enough to get a seat to myself, so I could relax.
I got back to Tsuruoka just after 8. I called Fumihiko and asked him to come and get me. I decided to wait in the Doutours coffee shop. It was the first time that I'd been there, but it was nice. I just had coffee. Fumihiko joined me and we chatted for a while. He was so glad to see me! I think he thinks I'm not going to come back when I go off on my little trips!
We went for dinner to a place we don't go very much, a yakiniku restaurant called Alilante. It was very nice tonight, and we both ate too much! We came home and spent some time together before I started up my computer.
I had a great trip and I feel wonderful and a bit tired! I have to get up quite early tomorrow, so I'll end this now. Night night!
