Cold and snowy.
A pretty good day. The most important news is that I found out today that Zachary Nicholas Perrin arrived on Friday at 1:30 pm MST. Cool. Vanessa was in and out of the hospital the same day. We're very happy to be a new aunt and uncle again.
We had a lazy kind of day. Fumihiko went to his work place in the morning to drop off his keys. I slept through the whole thing! When he came back we ended up going back to bed for a couple of hours. When we woke up, I got up and made a light lunch while I did laundry. I also did a bit of very much needed cleaning! Lunch was great. Leftover soup with some more curry powder and some cream added, tuna salad and avocado on crispbreads. It was very yummy!
We went out after a while to take our pictures to be developed. Sadly Fumihiko's camera didn't work and his film of Hong Kong didn't come out at all. Darn. Mine are okay I think. While the films were being developed we went to Chambre and had a good look around. There are many things that I'd love to buy in that shop, but I don't have places to put them or I don't have need for them. Fumihiko bought some cereal and some biscotti. He loves that stuff.
We picked up the films, and then went to the mall. At the mall we hacked around for a while and then went for dinner. We had the shabu-shabu again. I didn't eat as much as Fumihiko did. I think he was surprised when I said to him that I was finished. I just felt stuffed! It was too much for me.
When we came out of the mall we were surprised to see that it was really stormy out. There was snow everywhere and visibility was awful. We drove very slowly and carefully back to Tsuruoka.
Fumihiko had suggested that we go to karaoke after the mall, so that's what we did. We had to wait to get it, but got a room. We spent about 3 and a half hours there. It was great. We sang all kinds of stuff. I did "Auld Lang Syne" just because it was New Years last week and I didn't have a chance to sing it yet this year. The problem was they'd anglicized the words. It's a song in Broad Scots. I did the best I could, but I'm not sure how good it was!
When we finished, just before 2, we paid and then came out of the karaoke box to find our car covered in snow. Fumihiko cleaned it off and we came home. We had some decaf coffee and he's now watching some show about Ichiro Suzuki, the Japanese baseball player. He seems to enjoy it, but I haven't a clue! Course, I don't like baseball either.
Anyway, that's my day. It was pretty good. Tomorrow I think we're going furniture shopping. At least that's the plan right now!
Night night.
