Sunny but very windy.
Last night before I went to bed it was very, very windy. Today it was still quite windy outside.
I got up this morning and didn't go for a walk again. Oops. Umm, don't know why. Well, I do, but it's none of your business.
When I got up I was just going on line to check email when it happened. The fire alarm went off. I was still in my nightie so I thought, Oh, I should grab something to wear. Then I thought, I should grab my passport. The next thought I had was I should pack my backpack for work. I sort of realized around this time that if there was a real fire I'd be in it by now. I looked outside and saw my neighbours standing around outside, but not panicking. Then they had a chit-chat in the foyer of the building. Then they turned off the alarm. However, it went off every few minutes after that, until 10:15 or so. I was going crazy. I felt awful.
I got to work on time, and was quite busy. However, I did have one class cancel so I had a bit more breathing room. Hurray for that.
Tonight I got finished mostly on time, and Fumihiko picked me up. We went to Dan for dinner tonight. It was lovely. We had eggplant, caesar salad, chicken, two kinds of sashimi, and pork and kimchee stirfry. Yum.
We came home and I read some of my book for a while. I'm re-reading Dolores Claiborne at the moment and it's getting darn good. At work I'm reading a Tim Powers novel which is a bit bewildering at the moment. I find his usually are to start with, then I get into the world and it's fine. Stephen King is the opposite. I'm usually in his world from the first page.
Oh, update on the lovely black wood house with the green plant. They've actually put up some kind of barracade where I thought they were putting a garden, so I won't be able to get any nice pictures. It's a shame really. A lovely historical looking house and a nasty steel set of bars in front of it.
That's it for me for tonight. I'm tired and want to get to bed soon. Night!
