September 11, 2005 - Sunday

Cloudy and a bit cool.

A not very good day. We were supposed to be celebrating our anniversary today but it didn't go all that well for me.

I had a fairly nice morning. Fumihiko went out to vote, get his hair cut, and go to the post office. I did laundry when I finally woke up.

In the afternoon we went to Kintaro Sushi for lunch. It was interesting to say the least. I had the fish off the sushi, and Fumihiko ate my rice. I did have some miso soup and other stuff too.

We went to a photography studio after lunch. Fumihiko has decided to get our pictures taken for our anniversary. One problem is that he has ordered that I'm to wear my new yukata. I can't put it on by myself. Another problem is that our appointment is at 11 am tomorrow morning. I have to shower, do my hair and put on a touch of make-up before going to the place I bought my yukata to see if they'll help me put it on. Sigh.

After making the appointment we went to the mall. We were early so we hacked around the bookstore for a while. I picked up a couple of English books and then tried to find my hubby. I couldn't. I thought I'd wait in the mall for him. Just then I saw him rushing towards me. He'd been searching the mall for me. Huh? I - WAS - IN - THE - BOOKSTORE.

We went to see Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. I enjoyed it very much. Johnny Depp was a little over the top, but it was still a good movie.

We chatted to Chris and Yumiko afterwards and then went to our restaurant for dinner. Now, I had made Fumihiko make a reservation, because often when we try to go there for a special occasion, they're closed. They stayed open just for us. But, when we tried to order the big course, they said they didn't have enough food for us. Huh? We had a less expensive one and it was lovely. Actually it was all we needed. We had sashimi, pumpkin soup, clams with mushrooms and salad, then I had duck and Fumihiko had steak. For dessert he had a peach-ume compote with yogurt sherbet. It looked delicious. We both had coffee too.

After that lovely meal we went to karaoke for a couple of hours. That was fun, then we came home and I tried to put on my yukata. I failed miserably. Well, strictly speaking I got it on, but it wasn't "right". Sigh.

I spent the next couple of hours ironing shirts and my jacket for my meeting on Tuesday. Okay, I ironed some shirts just because I had the iron going anyway, but I was really tired by the time I finished. I sent Fumihiko off to bed because he was tired and I wanted to spend some quality time with my computer.

That's it. I have no idea how the photo session will go. I don't have high hopes. When Fumihiko and I tried to dress me up in my yukata we were both sweating which wasn't a great sign. The problem with going to a photography studio is that I'm out of my comfort zone and I can't understand what's going on. I tend to get angry easily then, and Fumihiko doesn't know how to calm me down yet. I really wanted to talk to the photographer about poses and stuff first.

Anyway, that's it for me. Have a good night.

Oh, one more thing. Today would have been my mother's birthday. Of course it's the anniversary of that other thing too, but I still miss my Mum sometimes. I'm thinking about you.
