Cool and cloudy, but rain is coming.
A good day, really!
I dragged myself out of bed very late this morning. Fumihiko had already put on his Rocky film du jour...Rocky 57 I think! The one with Mr. T. We watched till the end then went out for lunch.
Lunch was at the Daiichi Hotel. It was okay. Cheap, but not so good for a low carbing type of person. Oh well.
We went to a bank after lunch to see about setting up some kind of bank account. We talked to a lady and she'll get back to Fumihiko about what we have to do.
After lunch we went to the LeoPalace office and found out they'd already rented the apartment we looked at yesterday. We decided to take another one, but then there was a bit of a snag. They wanted mounds of paperwork from us. I guess that part of it was to prove that I could live in Japan legally, but personally I found it a bit annoying. Plus the fact that I'm an insanely private person (I know, I know, I spill all about my life on the net every night, but I AM really private).
Our next stop was city hall to get all the paperwork. Egads! What a pain in the butt. Oh well, at least Fumihiko knew what he was doing. I was clueless.
We went back to the rental place, she took our paperwork and will let us know tomorrow, or something. It's all very complicated, I'm not sure why!
After we dropped off the paperwork, we had a nice coffee break in Mr. Donut. They have decent cafe au lait, and they give free refills. That's almost unheard of in Japan, so it's a nice thing. It was high school central as many high school girls were in the store at the same time.
The next thing we did was go window shopping for a table. We found a couple in a second hand shop that might do. Then, Fumihiko persuaded me to go looking for a photocopier, but I told him it's very low priority at the moment. I need other things, like a tape recorder, a whole lot more! Still, I like hacking around electronic stores just as much as he does.
We had dinner after that, courtesy of Gusto. For some reason they were showing repeats of the Turin Olympics tonight, so I finally got to see the Canadian skater skate. She was pretty good. She did make a few mistakes, but did very well. Some of the other skaters were not that great.
After buying some groceries we came home. Tonight we watched Monk. It was a Halloween episode so people were dressing up in costumes and Fumihiko asked me if it was for Easter. Ummmm, no dear. I thought it was funny. We had a nice snack of crispbreads, wasabi and avocado. Yum. I'm trying to stop Fumihiko eating so much ramen or other noodles. Today's count....3 times. Sigh. He had ramen before I got up, some spaghetti at lunch and for dinner, udon. It's a bit much isn't it?? I think so.
Anyway, that's it for tonight. I had a good day, but tomorrow I'm back to being a lonely housewife again. Me? A housewife? Perish the thought.
Gotta go. Night night.
