April 24, 2006 - Monday

Fairly nice weather, bit windy.

Today was much better than yesterday. Thank goodness!

I went to bed sometime around 4 am. Fumihiko tossed and turned and got up at least twice so I couldn't relax. I'm the kind of person that needs quiet time before bed, but I didn't get it. When I did go to bed I was so tense that I couldn't sleep for ages.

In all honesty I didn't get up in the morning. Fumihiko was up at 7:30 and went to the doctor. I said a sleepy hello, and then when he came back a few hours later, I just refused to get up. He got into bed too and we both slept for a few more hours. Around 3 I started to wake up and feel more human. I asked that we go out for a very late brunch, so we did.

We went to Cocos. It was okay. I had a burger, Fumihiko had pasta. He really didn't feel that great again. He could hardly walk, and yet sitting wasn't comfy either. He told me that the doctor said it was related to his tailbone, which makes sense for the difficulty he has in getting comfortable.

He decided to go back to the doctor, so I asked him to drop me off at the mall first. He did.

I hacked around the mall for a bit. I wanted to buy a greeting card for someone, but it was a little difficult because they don't make them here! At least not in English. I got a call from Fumihiko and he said that he was coming to the mall.

I met up with him and we had coffee, then bought a few groceries. He used a shopping cart as a kind of walker. Poor thing looked terrible, but he said he felt better this time. We were on the way home when he asked if I wanted to go to karaoke. I said I did, but we had to drop off the groceries first, and if he didn't feel like it after that it was okay.

Well, we got home, put the groceries away, and he still wanted to go out, so we did. Yay. We went to Manekineko again. It was fun. We only went for 2 hours. He's supposed to go to work tomorrow and we still had to have dinner afterwards. It was a pretty cheap evening out too. We had drink bar - free tonight! and a "get one hour free" coupon, so the whole thing cost us less than 1000 yen. Wow!

For dinner we went to Izakaya Dan. It's in the same parking lot as the karaoke place. We had our usuals, caesar salad, eggplant in garlic sauce, pork-kimchee stirfry, and barbecued chicken. It was all good.

We came home again, and finally Fumihiko is off to bed, and hopefully sleeping. He's quite restless though. I think if he could just relax enough he'd feel better. I know I would!

Oh, one "bad" thing that happened today was the travel agency lady called us and said that the flights to Singpore are really crowded and we might not be able to go. Would we like to go to Guam instead? Guam would be for only four days, they count it as 4 but I count it as 2! The day we arrive and the day we leave aren't really "holidays", especially not in Guam! Both times I've been there, I've arrived late and had to leave really early in the day, so I don't count those as holidays. We'll have to keep our fingers crossed and see what happens. Wish us luck.

Anyway, that's it for me for tonight. Have a good night everyone.
